Manila-based NGO Water Flow Foundation, Inc. received two $50,000 checks from the Karl Malone Foundation for Kids and the Malone Family at the SMX Convention Center Aura last December 7.

In a press conference, K.J. Malone handed the checks to Water Flow founders Edwin Miranda and Chie Malaki. K.J. is the son of NBA Legend Karl โ€œThe Mailmanโ€ Malone, Sr., who established the Malone Foundation with his wife Kay, a Filipina real estate broker.

The two foundations collaborated in installing a water pump and tank last March 2022. The project benefits 250 Aeta families in Botolan, Zambales, who frequently make three-hour treks daily just to access clean, potable water. With the donation, the travel time is cut from hours to mere minutes.

Water Flow builds communities with convenient, equally accessible, and enough water. They also provide humanitarian aid, life skills and livelihood training, and coastal/underwater clean-ups.

But their partnership doesnโ€™t end there.

The following day, Karl Malone and Water Flow also held the groundbreaking of the Karl & Kay Malone Family Center. This multi-use community center, also in Burgos, has spaces for learning, training, health & wellness, and livelihood activities.

โ€œGod put us here to help others. They have a website, waterflowfoundation.org. and thatโ€™s where you can join the team,โ€ Malone said in an exclusive interview with LEAGUE.
