The LEAGUE Team shared love and joy with giveaways including slippers, biscuits, chocolate drinks, and fresh milk.
We are giving back the blessings we have received through the years by extending help to the community.” This was the gist of LEAGUE chief operating officer Gener M. Dungo’s speech during the company’s recent outreach activity at Sitio Labahan, Barangay San Isidro, Angono, Rizal.
Held on November 25, 2023, the activity was part of LEAGUE’s post6th anniversary and preChristmas celebrations. Dungo reiterated the company’s commitment to helping promote good governance and highlighting the need for quality public service, especially at the grassroots level.
Barangay San Isidro Chairman Joey Calderon led the residents in welcoming the LEAGUE team, expressing gratitude for the team’s visit to their community. Angono Vice Mayor Gerardo Calderon, extending a warm welcome, expressed gratitude to LEAGUE for providing the residents with the opportunity to showcase the transformation of the place into an organized community to the wider public. ”This place wasn’t this pleasant before, as it was a dumping ground. Now, as you can see, there are rolling hills, a view deck, and a relocation site, and the people here are already organized. What used to be a dumping ground for garbage has now turned into an ecowaste park,” he said. He revealed that this is not the first time that LEAGUE has extended support to Sitio Labahan. He recalled the time when Dungo bought books about waste management in support of the initiative to transform Sitio Labahan.
Calista, one of the country’s leading P-Pop groups, entertained the residents with their sing-and-dance performances, adding joy to the program. The kids cheerfully took part in the TikTok Dance Challenge with the talented members of Calista. The group and members of the LEAGUE team then shared love and joy with giveaways including slippers, biscuits, chocolate drinks, and fresh milk. The kids, numbering more than 120, truly enjoyed the delightful lunch of fried chicken and refreshing drinks afterwards.
Sitio Labahan Coordinator Abby Clutario expressed gratitude to LEAGUE for the gifts the company shared with the kids. The visit, according to her, is a big help, for this will open opportunities for growth for the sitio’s 150 families. She is hopeful that succeeding activities will also help strengthen the residents’ mindset about the importance of education, financial literacy, and family planning.
Dungo assured the residents that this year’s outreach program will only be the beginning of a yearly activity of LEAGUE in Sitio Labahan, and that the company is exploring other areas to be of help to the residents.
The activity was all about coming together to create beautiful memories and make a positive impact! The outreach activity is a testament to LEAGUE’s commitment to turning vision into action, creating a positive impact, and helping build a better Philippines for all.
Angono Vice Mayor Gerardo Calderon welcomed the LEAGUE team. He expressed his gratitude for giving them the opportunity to showcase to the public the transformation in Sitio Labahan.
