On March 28, 2018, Alaminos Bishop Ricardo Baccay proclaimed Pilgrimage Island in the Hundred Islands National Park (HINP) as a pilgrimage site. This island is home to the 56-foot-tall Christ the Savior statue and life-size stations of the cross religious sculptures. Tourists and pilgrims have to walk up 185 winding steps to reach the statue of Jesus Christ, the Savior. The 1.02-Kilometer hike, which includes 1,413 steps from the beach, is an option for those who choose to see and complete the 14 stations of the cross first.
